Answers to Frequently Asked Questions:

Drop off for Residential Campers is between 8-8:30am Monday Morning. Campers may not be dropped off before 8am, so please do not arrive early. Friday pick-up is 1:45-2pm.

Tye-dying will be offered during Wednesday’s activity blocks. Campers who wish to tye-dye should either bring a white, cotton article of clothing or can purchase a Camp t-shirt for $10.  Do not send money with your camper. Our camp store only sells camp t-shits, sweatshirts, hats, and water bottles that can be purchased when campers are dropped off on Monday or picked up on Friday.

If campers are struggling with homesickness we will first work with them to push through it. We will also reach out to parents and work with them to come up with a strategy to best support their child. Regular phone calls between parents and campers are not a practicle solution and almost always heighten homesickness.

Campers do not need to bring snacks with them as lunch and 2 daily snacks will be provided by Coutts. PBJ is always available at all meals for picky eaters. For really picky eaters parents may send additional snacks or items to supplement. Vegetarian options are available at every lunch, so there is no need to inform us ahead of time. Vegans should provide a heads up so we can have a non-dairy milk option available. Campers with medical issues that severely limit food options should contact us in advance.

Care packages and letters - Please avoid large amounts of candy or sugary food and please nothing caffinated. All camper mail should be mailed to (Camper’s Name), c/o Coutts Camp PO Box 565 Derby, VT 05829. Mail regularly lands in Camp’s PO Box on Saturday after campers have left. Mail packages early.

Please leave all electronics at home.

For safety reasons, under no circumstances may campers have cell phones at camp. They will be confiscated.

Unclaimed items at the end of the week are kept for 1 week and then may be donated. At the end of a typical summer we donate well over a hundred items of clothing! Please consider labeling all clothes with your child’s name, especially those that are valuable to you. Any lost & found items are displayed daily at the Bunkhouse and are displayed under the pavilion on Friday for parents to check. We work hard to ensure all children leave with the items they brought with them to camp, but are not responsible for forgotten items. We do not mail forgotten items. Families must return to camp to claim items.

Telephone calls to camp for emergencies or for campers with special concerns should be directed to the Camp Director. Please call until you reach Annie Brueck at 802-673-5638 or Jason Brueck at 802-673-4638.
