Welcome
to Coutts-Moriarty Day Camp!
As
parents of three children, we have first hand experience with both the
excitement and nervousness that parents and children will be feeling in the
days and weeks before Camp. Our goal is to ensure that each child has an
exceptional week filled with friends, fun, and opportunities for growth. Toward
that end, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail us with any questions or
concerns you might have prior to camp.
The following are answers to some
frequently asked questions
Drop
off for Day Campers is between 8 and 8:30am each morning. Monday through
Thursday pick-up is between 4 and 4:30pm. Friday pick-up is 1:45-2pm. Please
don’t be early or late!
Tye-dying
will be offered during Wednesday’s activity blocks. Campers who wish to tye-dye
should either bring a white, cotton article of clothing or purchase a Camp
t-shirt for $10 Wednesday morning.
Day
Campers who would like to see what it’s like to spend the night at Camp can do
this on most Thursday nights. Campers not yet ready to try an overnight can
stay late on Thursday to eat dinner at camp and enjoy Thursday evening’s
campfire program (smores included). They can then be picked up at
8:30-8:45pm. There is no additional cost
for either option. Campers may choose one of these options please let us know
by Wednesday morning.
We
make a sincere effort to find the owners of any lost and found items. During
the week, all lost and found items will be moved to the bunkhouse porch near
the Day Campers bookbag cubbies. On Friday all lost and found items will be
displayed on the bunkhouse porch for campers and parents to look through. Any
unclaimed items will be kept for one week, after which they may be donated to
campers as needed or donated to area thrift stores. Coutts does not mail back
lost and found items. Families can arrange to return to Camp to claim items.
Camp
is not set up for campers to receive or make phone calls or texts and as a
general policy, does not allow campers to bring cell phones or any other
electronic devices. This policy is in place to ensure camp safety, so please
leave all devices at home. Calls to or from camp for emergencies or for campers
with special concerns should go through the Camp Director. Please call until
you reach Annie Brueck at 802-673-5638 or Jason Brueck at 802-673-4638.
Day Campers
do not need to bring snacks with them as lunch and 2 daily snacks will be
provided by Coutts. PBJ is always available at lunch for picky eaters. For
really picky eaters parents may send additional snacks or items to supplement
lunch.
Vegetarian
options are available at every lunch, so there is no need to inform us ahead of
time. Vegans should provide a heads up so we can have a non-dairy milk option
available. Campers with medical issues that severely limit food options, should
contact us in advance to come up with a meal plan that will work.
Please
leave all electronics at home.
For
safety reasons, under no circumstances may campers have cell phones at camp.
